Participation in the SEL4US network offers many benefits
Community of Practice
Affiliate leaders participate in monthly online meetings and an ongoing online discussion forum to learn best practices, exchange ideas, and share quarterly updates on their goals, plans and progress.
SEL4US provides phone, email and in-person consultation with State Affiliate leaders and their volunteers to provide targeted guidance, assistance, technology support and resources.
Affiliates can quickly build a website and start using online organizing tools with our SEL4US Affiliate templates. Such tools facilitate sending emails, recruiting participants and volunteers, events, advocacy campaigns and fundraising, both within and among states.
SEL4US is collaborating with State Affiliates to develop resources to customize and use in their states. Our first resources are a logo and brand guide and toolkit for explaining SEL and its impact to a wide range of stakeholders. Future resources may address volunteer recruitment and management, leveraging events to build awareness, best practices for SEL implementation support, and developing advocacy campaigns.
SEL4US cultivates relationships and collaborations on behalf of all of its affiliates with key national entities aligned to our collective mission, such as CASEL, the National Commission on Social, Emotional, and Academic Development, and Character.org.
Examples of recent SEL4US support for affiliates include:
Helped SEL4MA launch new branding, website, and online organizing tool that SEL4MA used for a very successful online advocacy campaign.
Delivered keynote address and consulted on meeting design for kickoff meeting for SEL4CT.
Led a planning process that catalyzed the merger of more than ten organizations and initiatives under a new SEL4NJ structure.
Helped assemble stakeholders from multiple communities and convened in-person with leadership team for SEL4WI.
